Non-Clinical Opportunities

St. Joseph Homeless Shelter

Be a warrior in the battle against COVID-19 and other challenges facing the homeless population!

We have a non-clinical opportunity with the Missionaries of Charity, the congregation founded by Mother Teresa, to assist with their men's shelter and soup kitchen in Gallup, New Mexico. We need servant-minded volunteers and are looking for 2 men or a married couple for 2-week rotations. It will consist of a variety of duties, including but not limited to, screening each man for eligibility to enter the shelter, supporting the Sisters to keep order, helping set up tables for dinner, staying overnight to assist with any needs which may arise.

Shifts are late afternoon through breakfast, Friday-Thursday morning. The rest of the time is yours!

COVID Care Force will provide travel to and from Gallup, NM, onsite transportation, and a small food allowance. You will also be able to eat dinner and breakfast the Sisters prepare. Accommodations consist of separate living quarters for volunteers only, at shelter.
