What kind of volunteer opportunities are there?

Our needs are constantly evolving! Right now we have volunteer positions open for nurses (RN, LPN, LVN), respiratory therapists, EMT's, CNA's and limited opportunities for NP's, PA's, MD/DO's. We have many different volunteer opportunities including public health, COVID testing, and ambulatory care centers, etc. Please view the Volunteer Opportunities page for more information about site specific opportunities.

Will I have to travel?

Yes, most likely! COVID Care Force will arrange and cover the costs of travel. Please view the Volunteer Opportunities page to see the sites we are currently serving.

How long can I volunteer?

We are currently asking our volunteers for a minimum of 2 weeks. If you have more than 2 weeks to give, please let us know when you sign up.

We also have select opportunities for extended deployment times (1+ month) that may include a stipend.

Will I be provided housing?

Appropriate housing for each volunteer will be provided by CCF. Site specific information will be available upon application.

Will I have to cover my own expenses?

COVID Care Force will arrange and cover all transportation and housing fees. Some sites are eligible for food expense reimbursements.

Can I serve as a part of a team?

Some volunteer assignments will make provisions for small teams to serve together at the same hospital. Other volunteer assignments will be available for individuals who are willing to serve in a solo assignment. If you are interested in signing up as a team please email

Will I be taking care of COVID+ patients?

It depends on the assignment. Some requests from hospitals will be for volunteers to care for COVID patients, others will not. If you are ever asked to care for COVID+ patients, appropriate PPE will be provided.

Will I be given PPE (personal protective equipment)?

The hospitals we serve are responsible for distributing proper PPE. We will never knowingly send a volunteer to a site without the guarantee of adequate PPE.

Do I need to be actively licensed or registered in my profession?

You will need to be actively licensed in most cases. Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis depending on current hospital requests.

In accordance with the modifications of licensure requirements due to COVID-19, you may be eligible for temporary licensure if you do not have an active license in the state that you are volunteering in.

Will I be provided health insurance?

We wish we could provide health insurance to all volunteers, but that is not possible at this point. We will continue to look for health insurance options for our volunteers through the open market, as well as through Federal or State established options.
